It's an interview hosted by HK's Commercial Radio Channel - HK Korean Wave Segment

The DJ who interviewed Wookie was the same guy who hosted the event @ Jiong Guan Ou. His name is Benny and he was full of praises for our Wookie. Benny's impressed with Wookie's cantonese and praised him for being more outstanding than most of the Korean stars which attended his show previously.

Comments given by the Host on Wookie

Lee Dong Wook came to HK last Thursday as the Korean Rep for the Korean Culture Promotional Event. He also held his first fan sign meeting on that day. A lot of ppl came to see him that day. My first impression was that he looked like a gentleman with a tint of softness and politeness in him. However, I discovered that he's a playful person and was very accomodating when it came to interaction with his fans. He's one of the most playful and accommodating Korean celebs I've met. Alright, it's time for the first question. I asked him about his relationship with Lee Da Hae since a lot of ppl loved them as an on screen couple in My Girl.

(laughs) Ohh..I'm already used to this question. In fact, I've also been asked this question during my previous trips to the Phils, Indonesia, Thailand and of course here in HK. Fans always talk about us.

LDW said he didn't mind the comments about him and LDH, and wasn't uneasy or unhappy at all. He said that's because ppl loved the drama and couldn't get the drama and the characters off their minds. He added on saying that LDH and himself are close friends and aren't lovers. I went on to ask him whether he's seen LDH's new drama H!M, since he said he's a buddy of LDH. LDW said he's too embarrased to admit, that he's only seen 2 eps. (awww......) I asked him to say something to his fans on air. Wookie said he's very happy and thanked everyone.

ลีดองวุคมาถึงฮ่องกง เมื่อวันพฤหัสบ เพื่อเป็นตัวแทนชาวเกาหลี ในการเสนอวัฒนธรรมเกาหลีในงานนี้ ดองวุคได้จัดงาน มอบลายเซ็น ให้กับแฟนๆในวันนั้น มีแฟนๆมากมายมาชื่นชมเค้าในวันนั้น
ความประทับใจแรกของผมเกี่ยวกับดองวุค คือ ดองวุคเป็นคนสุภาพบุรุษด้วยบุคลิกภาพที่อ่อนน้อม สุภาพ ของเค้า แต่เค้าก้อดูเป็นคนขี้เล่น และเป็นคนร่าเริงและน่ารัก ในยามที่เค้าอยู่กับแฟนๆ ดองวุคเป็นคนขี้เล่นและร่าเริงสดใสมากๆคนนึงในบรรดาดาราเกาหลีที่ผมเคยเจอ

ได้เวลาเริ่มต้นกับคำถามแรกกันเลย... ผมถามดองวุคเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเค้ากับลีดาเฮ เพราะมีแฟนๆมากมายชื่นชมบทบาทในละครเรื่อง My Girl

(หัวเราะ) โอ้ ผมคุ้นเคยกับคำถามนี้ทีเดียว จริงๆแล้ว ผมถูกถามคำถามนี้มาตลอด ไม่ว่าจะไปงานที่ประเทศไหนๆก้อตาม ไม่ว่าจะเป็น ฟิลิปปินส์ อินโดฯ ประเทศไทย และก้อที่นี่ ฮ่องกงด้วย แฟนๆมักจะถามผมตลอด
ดองวุคบอกว่า เค้าไม่รังเกียจเกี่ยวกับความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับเค้าและดาเฮ และไม่เคยรู้สึกไม่พอใจแม้แต่น้อย เค้าบอกว่า เพราะเค้ารู้ว่าทุกคนชอบละคร อินกับบทบาทในละครจนติดภาพเค้าสองคนจากในละคร
เค้ายังพูดอีกว่า ดาเฮและเค้าเป็นเพื่อนที่สนิทกันแต่ไม่ใช่คนรักกัน ผมถามดองวุคเกี่ยวกับละครเรื่องใหม่ของลีดาเฮ เรื่อง Hello Miss ดองวุคกล่าวด้วยท่าทางอายๆว่า เค้าได้ดูไป 2 ตอนเท่านั้นเอง..

H: It's a pleasure meeting you.
W: It's a pleasure meeting you too.
W: Hello everyone. I am Lee Dong Wook (Wookie greets his fans in Cantonese). It is really a pleasure meeting all of you.
H: I know it's your first time here in HK. So how do you feel about HK and the fans here? Are there any places that you want to visit in HK?
W: First of all, it's my first time in HK. A lot of fans came to welcome me. I was very surprised and happy. I didn't expect so many ppl to come, so I'm kinda ecstatic and excited. I'll try to visit HK more often in the future to meet up with my fans.
H: We know of your character in My Girl. Are there any similarities between your character in My Girl and yourself? Especially of your sentiments about love and the type of girl you like, are you similar to SGC (in MG) in these aspects?
W: First of all, I'm very happy that My Girl's gained so much attention in HK. MG is indeed one of my most memorable projects. Because of this drama, I've gained so much attention and love from the whole of Asia. I hope you all will still continue to support me in the future and I'll repay you all by coming back to HK often. Regarding the similarities of myself and SGC in MG...talking about similarities, I think we're similar in a sense that we're kinda slow and dull when it comes to love. We're quite similar in this aspect.
H: Do you have any favourite HK actors/directors that you want to collaborate with? Or do you have any roles in mind that you want to challenge in future?
W: A personal favourite of mine would be "Infernal Affairs". The movie really left me with a deep impression. If I have the chance, I would like to work with the directors of IA. (Wookie laughed and said): Well it's only a dream. (he's sooooo cutee....) In regards to actors/actresses, it would be an honour to work with anyone of the stars (in HK).
H: A question that most of our HK fans would want to know. What is your ideal type of GF? And what do you have to say to our HK fans?
W: Ermm...an ideal partner/gf...Of course it'd be great if she's beautiful. But the most important thing is that we can click well together. That's already enough. Some more I'm more of an introvert/dull person, so I prefer cheerful and bubbly girls. (hahahaha..is he hinting something here huh? ) Lastly, to my HK fans, I'm really happy to have met all of you today. Thank you for loving My Girl. I will come to HK more often in the future, and I promise to present more good projects then. Please wait patiently.

W: ไม่นะคับ น้ำหนักผมเท่าเดิม อาจเป็นเพราะทรงผมที่แตกต่างก้อได้คับ ทำให้ดูเหมือนอ้วน ช่วงนี้ผมอยู่ในระหว่างช่วงว่างจากงาน เลยยังไม่คิดว่าจะเพิ่มน้ำหนัก หรือลดน้ำหนัก ต้องรอจนกว่าจะรับงาน ดูบทบาทอีกที ถึงจะรู้ว่าควรจะเพิ่มหรือลดน้ำหนัก

B: แน่นอน ผมทราบ เอ๊ะนี่เค้ากำลังทดสอบพวกเราอยู่ใช่มั้ยเนี่ยะ พวกเราทำการบ้านมาอย่างดีคับ หลังจาก My Girl เค้าเล่นหนังสยองขวัญเรื่อง อารัง และหลังจากนั้น ก้อมีหนังรักตลก เรื่อง Strongest Romance คุณเพิ่งจะเสร็จสิ้นการทำงานจาก SR คุณรู้สึกยังไงบ้างกับเรื่องนี้

W: ดีเลยคับ สนุกมากๆ

B: คุณคิดเรื่องแต่งงานบ้างยังคับ

W: แต่งงานเหรอ ยังคับ ผมหมายความว่า มันคงเป็นเรื่องของอนาคตสำหรับผม ตอนนี้ผมเพิ่งจะ 26 โดยปกติผุ้ชายเกาหลีนิยมแต่งงานในช่วงอายุประมาณ 30 เพราะฉะนั้นตอนนี้ผมยังไม่ได้คิดอะไรมากกับเรื่องนี้ ผมคิดว่า สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดในการมีชีวิตคู่ ก้อคือ ความเข้าใจซึ่งกันและกัน

B: คุณจะยอมรับ “น้องสาวที่สูญหายไป ที่ชอบโกหก” มั้ยคับ

W: “น้องสาวที่สูญหายไปที่ชอบโกหก” เป็นเพียงบทบาทในละคร แต่แน่นอนที่สุดผมไม่ชอบคนโกหก

Benny: In My Girl you looked quite different, different style different hair. You seemed a little fatter. Have you lost weight recently?

Wookie: I wasn't fatter! My weight's the same, it's just maybe due to the different hairstyle which is probably what made people think I looked fatter. I'm between work, resting right now so I don't have any plans to lose or increase my weight. I'll wait until my next job before I know if I have to gain / lose any weight!

Benny: How do you feel about getting so many gifts from your (HK) fans?

Wookie: I'm so grateful to them, really thank you! I'm bringing all of them back home to Korea with me.

Benny: some of them also gave you pictures of your costar (Mukgu!), how do you feel about that?

Wookie: I thank them! I'll bring them back to Korea and give them to her.

Benny: do you still keep in touch since the drama ended?

Wookie: At the end of this drama, everyone became really good friends, and we try to meet up for chats & drinks. Actually, I've been a little busy since MG, did you know I made 2 movies?

Benny: Of course, is he testing us? We've done our homework! After MG, he did a horror movie Arang, and then the romantic-comedy Strongest Romance. You just finnished Strongest Romance, how did you feel about it?

Wookie: Pretty good. It was a lot of fun.

Benny: Have you thot about marriage?

Wookie: Marriage....nope! I mean, it's still in the future for me as I'm 26, and the usual age for Korean men to be married these days is 30, so I'm not thinking too much about it yet. Also, I think, what's most important for a life partner is mutual understanding.

Benny: Would you accept a "long lost cousin who likes to lie"?

Wookie: the "long lost cousin" is just a character in a drama plot, but definitely not a girl who likes lying!
